BEAR HUNTING TIPS
Some other things to think about:
1. Before coming up North for the hunt, we suggest you wash all your
hunting clothes (camouflage) twice. First with laundry detergent,
then a second time with just water to make sure all the soap perfumes
are out.
2. Use unscented deodorant, soap, and shampoo.
3. A Bear’s sense of smell is approximately 250 times better
than humans.
4. If you smoke, we strongly suggest you do not smoke
while you’rE
bear hunting in the tree stand. Bears are very smart and know what
tobacco smells like and they know the smell comes from humans.
5. While you are in the tree stand, you need to be very silent.
Bears have very good hearing.
6. Leave your camouflaged clothing, boots, hat, packsack, equipment
outside when you’re not hunting. Spray it down with “No
Scent” and / or cedar / pine spray.
7. Stay still. A bear’s visual acuity is largely based on
movement.
